Hartalega Expanding in Delapan SEZ

One of the world's largest nitrile glove manufacturers, Hartalega Holdings Bhd had acquired 310 acres of land in Delapan Special Border Economic Zone.

What is this Special Economic Zone about?

The Bukit Kayu Hitam Special Border Economic Zone (SBEZ) is a new development covering approximately 11,000 acres of land located near the border area of Kedah and Sadao, Thailand.

The main attractiveness of this area is tax incentives. These incentives include an Income Tax Exemption, as well as an Investment Tax Allowance. The package also includes rewards for specific promoted activities such as Research and Development (R&D).

Other benefits for investors include Stamp Duty Reduction (based on location of operations) and Import Duty Exemption on raw materials, components, machineries, equipment, spare parts and consumables that are not produced locally and used directly in the production activities.

With all these incentives, the profit margin of Hartalega Holdings will be greatly expanded once they commence their operations in the SEZ.
