1. The New Zealand government is asking her Central bank to consider house prices when formulating monetary policy. In our view, we believe asset prices may be included in CPI in the future and the era of low-interest rates may be ending soon.
2. Gold prices have fallen substantially this week as investors turn to a risk-off mood. However, we believe this is a great opportunity to take a long position in gold. We remain bullish on the gold price as it is a great tool to hedge against inflation. Institutional investors share the same thought too.
4. EU, China, and India are the 3 main exporting destinations for Malaysia palm oil. It is interesting to see how the volume of palm oil export has changed over the months and gauge the price of CPO futures.
5. Oil has returned to its March high. If you track the futures' open interest, you will start noticing oil prices as open interest in oil started to pick up in July 2020.
