31 Oct, 2025 SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd Sabah has acquired a 25% equity stake in Petronas PFLNG 3 Sdn Bhd through SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd in partnership with Petronas LNG Sdn Bhd, reinforcing collaboration between the state and Petronas. The nearshore floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility at the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park is valued at US$3.1 billion (RM13 billion) and is designed to produce two million tonnes per year, with operations scheduled to start in the second half of 2027.
