为什么你一定要拥有实物黄金和白银？
你可以拥有房产，但是政府可以指定政策，没收充公。 这在1949年的上海、排华时期的印尼、内战时期的美国都发生过。 如果是太平盛世呢？政府可以设定房产税，可以限制交易。让你的房产财富分分钟缩水。
股票呢？股市要是被暂停，就如1940年德军入侵法国时所发生的事，这些财富也可能分分钟不是你的。
至于现金，如果你不幸持有了美国内战期间南方的美元，或者二战期间德国的马克、1949年的国民党法币、1974年的南越货币，你的现金都会化为乌有。即使在和平年代，2008年的塞浦路斯，曾经20万欧元以上的存款统统被冻结。在马来西亚，政府可以以你缴交的税不足的借口而冻结你的银行户口。
以上的所有财富都有个共同点，就是需要第三方确认你是财富的主人。 而这个第三方，就是政府。政府向我们交易时收取的 Stamp Duty 就是为这个交易进行背书。事实上任何一笔通过某个第三方，无论是政府还是银行之类的机构认证的财富，都不是真正意义上的你的财富。因为如果这些认证的机构不承认你拥有这笔财富，或者剥夺了你对财富的控制权，你的钱就会化为乌有。
只有实物黄金和白银，才是不需要通过第三方认证的财富。当然，数字货币也属于这个范畴。不过，你如果曾经把重重的黄金白银拿在手上时，你会知道这个感觉是不一样的。
