* Master Plan of Sedenak Tech Park
Significant Event

  • Straits Trading Company is proposing a distribution in specie in the issued share capital of ESR Group Limited
  • Tiong Nam Logistics had entered into a preliminary collaboration agreement with a unit of Johor Corp (JCorp) to jointly develop a logistics hub on a 300-acre plot of land in Sedenak Tech Valley, Johor. Under the preliminary deal, JCorp's wholly-owned unit JLand Group Sdn Bhd agrees to provide 300 acres of land for the development and construction of logistics hubs, while Tiong Nam will implement the project and supervise the day-to-day progress.
  • President Biden yesterday signed a broad tax, climate and health-care spending package worth in the region of $437 billion. The bill, known as the Inflation Reduction Act, contained many measures in Biden's policy agenda that only a few weeks ago looked to have little chance of passing. The package includes price caps for medicines, a 15% minimum tax on large corporations, a 1% excise tax on stock buybacks, and a range of climate and energy provisions such as tax credits for electric vehicles.
  • Baladna Food Industries from Qatar is investing RM2.1 billion to develop an integrated dairy farm project in Chuping, Perlis.


Real Estate Industry
 

  • Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank), could be moving its headquarters to the Merdeka 118 tower. Aside from Menara Maybank in Jalan Tun Perak, several other iconic office buildings such as Menara PNB in Jalan Tun Razak and Menara MIDF in Jalan Raja Chulan could be vacant in the coming months as PNB-owned entities move into Merdeka 118.
  • PMB Technology is selling the Sungai Besi land with more than 35% return after acquiring it in Nov 2020.
  • Swift Haulage is disposing of a piece of land for RM 38 million.


Infrastructure/Logistics

  • The RM 879 million Sungai Golok Delta Integrated Development Project, Phase Two, to tackle the flood problem in Kelantan, will be implemented soon. It is expected to be completed by April 2024.
  • Tenaga National Berhad will invest around RM20 billion per year over the next 28 years as capital expenditure for initiatives to fast-track TNB's Energy Transition Plan aimed at reducing its emissions intensity to net zero by 2050.


Cash Call/ Debt restructuring/Restructuring/Proposed Listing

  • TWL Holdings is raising RM 120.2 million via the issuance of five-year redeemable convertible unsecured loan stocks (RCULS).


Company Expansion Plan/ Capex Plan

  • Johor-based precast concrete manufacturer, OKA Corp is acquiring the land adjacent to its current plant for RM 14 million for its expansion plan.
  • Malaysian Bulk Carriers Bhd is venturing into the business of grocery retail.
